MOTION DESIGN
Time-Based Design
Time-Based Design allows students to take their two dimensional designs and effectively set them into motion. To acclimate the students to the realm of motion graphics, they are charged with creating a reverse storyboard for an existing motion graphics piece with an accompanying narrative. They move onto creating motion graphics (using Adobe After Effects or Flash) behind exercises such as the black square problem, type in motion, and a brandmark ident, all with preceding storyboards and narratives.
The final project is based around making an information graphic easier to access, understand, and/or view by setting it into motion to enhance its form, meaning, and communication.
